Life, Interrupted: Facing Cancer in Your 20s ...... Tiffanie Yu

Summary: Emma Dodge Hansen was a on her way to an enjoyable trip to Paris and then New York until she started to feel weak from head to toe. The doctors didn't know what it was or what was causing her these symptoms. They ran tests after tests and finally she was diagnosed with cancer in her early 20's. Emma had no idea this would happen, she was healthy and everything was good in her life.

Question: If people can get cancer in their early 20's does this affect your life or does it not affect you if anyone can now get cancer in their 20's more often than before? Does it make you question more about your life like how are you going to live your life with cancer or will you have children in the future?

  1. I think that it is something to worry about because if cancer is becoming a trend in younger people, it could eventually get to children. This means that our children could one day have cancer.

  2. I think we all may worry about cancer, especially considering the concept that cancer is attacking younger and younger victims more often. However, I believe that it is more of a thing that you should be cautious about, and then just deal with it once you do get it if you are to get it, you should not spend your life worrying about getting it though. It does make you question how long of a future you may have, though.

  3. Yea, I agree with Marion. In this day and age, practically everything can give a person cancer, from the toothpaste they use everyday, to the microwave. I think its ironic how we used to be so ignorant, but have less cancer, and now that the human race is becoming more aware, and trying to do so much to stop it by becoming more natural, we find that younger and younger people are getting cancer. I saw this one thing and a kid got cancer and died from it. She was only 12.
